FAQ
Can I edit on my computer at home or do I have to edit on my phone?
If you choose the video project route, it is not required to edit on your phone. If you have access to software and a computer to edit your videos at home you are welcome to use whatever resource you have available to you.
Can I check out a camera?
At this time camera checkouts are not an option.
What if I don't have access to a camera or phone that supports filming and or video editing?
Your best option would be to choose the report analysis assignment rather than creating a video - either option will be acceptable for the same amount of credit.
Can I work with others to create my video?
If you choose to work with others during this assignment it should ONLY be done REMOTELY. You are free to share clips that you've recorded and collaborate in that way, but due to the circumstances it is highly discouraged to meet up in order to complete your project / video. As directed by the Alpine School District: "The school dismissal for two weeks is meant to support social distancing and self-isolating to reduce the reach and spread of this virus..."
Do I have to do both Option 1 and Option 2 assignments?
No. Students should choose either the assignment from Option 1 or 2, NOT BOTH. The choice is up to the student and is based on the availability of video recording devices (phone, camera, etc) and a device available to you for editing.
What happens if I don't submit anything during the break?
An acceptable excuse will be hard to come by and the result will likely be bad grades - if you need help or have questions please reach out.
Any software or form of editing that you have access to will be fine - however - Adobe Premiere Rush is a free resource provided to you with your own student gmail login.
